Inauguration of Greater Chapter It was with great joy that a large contingent from the Benefice were able to journey to Llandaff Cathedral on Sunday afternoon, to bear witness to Rector becoming a Canon of the Greater Chapter of Llandaff. It was lovely to see Rector supported by her family and so many of her flock. Da iawn a llongyfarchiadau Reverend Lynda.

War Memorial at St. Teilo’s, Phase 1 This first phase, the plynth and the memorial plaque itself was completed in time for VE day 75th anniversary. All the work was carried out by the new owner of Harold Davies Monumental Mason, Geraint Whiteman and his assistant, and what a pleasure it was working with them. The choice of the Gwyrydd quarry Bluestone and not marble  was at Geraint's suggestion. When you see it you will realise how valid that suggestion was. With the newly painted church (by our generous neighbour Viv Calaghan), and the generous funding of The Heritage Lottery Fund, the result of Phase 1 is most impressive. Phase 2 is the Oak Bench. we have a slight 'hiccup', the saw mill is in lock down. Our carpenter has the design and the will, but no Welsh Oak. We are optimistic that Phase 2 will be completed soon.
A Big THANK YOU to Tonmawr Fund raising started by the community to save its church, when news spread of continuing bills to be paid during lockdown with no regular income. From fairy sponsored walks to selling gooseberries, to making and selling face-masks and all the general donations to the “Go Fund Me” page. A massive thank you to the Tonmawr community especially Emily and Carly for setting up the Go Fund Me page - Community at its best.
