The Parish Garden of Remembrance
We are most grateful to Coastal Housing for all their work undertaken in the Garden of Remembrance as part of their work for the community. Thank you Andrew McCutcheon for all his hard work - the garden is looking wonderful. We are always pleased to receive any financial donations towards the upkeep of the Garden. It is a lovely, calm space in the centre of town.
Pet Service St Teilo’s played host to the benefice Pet Service, which had a host of creatures great and small in attendance, the duck playing a very vocal part in the proceedings!! However, Rector said that silence fell over all, including the animals, at the final blessing. Thank you to all who contributed to this wonderful service.
Teddy Bears’ Picnic St Illtyd’s played host to a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. All Teddies were accompanied by a responsible adult or child and a fun time was had by all in the wonderful September sunshine.
Congratulations: to Anne Joseph on completing her zip wire ride at Tower Colliery. She has raised approximately £400 for St Teilo’s Church funds. to Maureen Morgan on completing her run of The Swansea Half Marathon, raising £600 for St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church funds.
The new Afon Nedd Ministry Area consisting of the combined parishes of Neath, Skewen and Briton Ferry came into being on 1st January 2022. We will remain as three separate parishes, each with their own priests but share decision making and work together on projects. The new Ministry Area will be inaugurated by Bishop June on Thursday, 27th January in a service at 7.00pm.
